How Many Electric Ford Models Are There?

Ford offers three all-electric Ford models: the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit. Each offers exhilarating performance with an electric touch, highlighted by long driving ranges, heavy-duty capabilities, and the same Ford strength you’d expect…

  • Mustang Mach-E: Reach 0 to 60 MPH in as little as 3.5 seconds with its 270-mile EPA-estimated range—with eAWD (electric all-wheel drive) to boot.
  • F-150 Lightning: Enjoy 775 lb-ft of near-instant torque to tackle the unpaved road, highlighted by its maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds.
  • E-Transit: Choose from three lengths, three roof heights, and three models to electrify your on-the-go business, and use the available Pro Power Onboard to use 2.4kW of power as needed.

Ford also offers a selection of plug-in hybrid models for interested drivers. These models include the Escape Hybrid, Escape ST-Line Elite Hybrid, Explorer Hybrid, Maverick, and F-150.

Do I Qualify for EV Tax Credits?

Pennsylvania drivers may qualify for a federal EV tax credit. Through this program, eligible EVs like the F-150 Lightning may qualify for a tax credit of up to $7,500. However, the Mustang Mach-E drivers are only eligible for a maximum tax credit of $3,750 as of April 2023.

There are criteria to meet these tax credits, though, including battery components, gross income, and MSRP, among others. Our Ford experts in Reading, PA will help you gather all the information you need to qualify for notable tax credits.

What Are the Benefits of Going Electric?

You may be surprised how many advantages there are behind the wheel of a Ford EV. The most noticeable benefit comes in fuel savings and fewer maintenance needs—as well as expanded driving ranges and, of course, zero emissions.

Plus, with a growing network of public charging stations, you can quickly charge on-the-go without any downtime.

What Range Can I Expect In a Ford EV?

Ford has equipped their EVs with extensive ranges to make every drive that much better. Both all-electric options offer a variety of battery types, from standard to an extended range—each of which promises longer drives and fewer stops.

The Mustang Mach-E provides a maximum EPA-estimated range between 224 and 312 miles, whereas the F-150 Lightning delivers an EPA-estimated range between 240 and 320 miles.

Range is impacted by several factors, including battery type, speed, temperature, and towing or trailering.

What Is the Ford EV Battery Life?

As with any EV, this varies depending on the Ford EV model, driving conditions, driving habits, and other factors, including speed, acceleration, and temperature. However, you can drive with added assurance with an 8-year/100,000-mile Ford EV battery warranty.

In other words, your Ford battery should be able to retain at least 70% of its original power throughout that time period.

How Do I Find an EV Charging Station?

Public EV charging stations are easy to find, thanks to a growing number of resources. For instance, the BlueOval™ Charge Network carries the largest public charging station in North America with over 84,000 chargers. You can filter through Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers, as well as find any cost-free charging stations.

Additionally, SYNC® 4A inside the Mustang Mach-E includes a built-in tool to help you find a charging station as you drive.

What Should I Expect With EV Repair Costs?

In most cases, EV repairs run significantly cheaper than a gas-powered vehicle. For instance, if you need routine EV maintenance—things like battery checkups and battery updates—you’ll find noticeably lower costs at our Ford service center in Berks County, PA.

This is due to the lower per-mile cost of maintaining an EV with its fewer components and smart design. For instance, if you drive a gas-powered F-150, your maintenance needs include oil changes, timing belt inspections, spark plug replacements, and maintaining every engine component. With EVs, though, a more streamlined, battery-operated engine means fewer components to care for—and, in turn, fewer costs.
